24 And Pilate— having seen that he[a] is profiting nothing, but rather an uproar is taking place— having taken water, washed-off his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of the blood[b] of this One. You shall see to it. 25 And having responded, all the people said, “His blood be upon us and upon our children”. 26 Then he released Barabbas to them. But having flogged[c] Jesus, he handed Him over in order that He might be crucified.
